Labyrinth Brewing Co.

Impression

This brewery is closed. Large crowd, good atmosphere, cozy layout. Met owners of another brewwery at the bar, which really brought home the cooperative spirit that exists in Connecticut brewing.

BEERS TASTED

Beer 1: Hesperia NE/Hazy IPA (? abv) Cold, crisp, with good - not excessive - hoppiness. (Tasted at Cold Creek on 8/2/19.)

Beer 5: Kuato Imperial Red Ale (9.2% abv) Labyrinth claims a "complex malt backbone" to this beer. I found it an odd mix. Not my favorite. (Tasted at the CT Beer Festival, XL Center 4/22/23.)

Beer 2: Erebus Oatmeal Stout (5.6% abv) Big stout with coffee aroma. Dense foam, but not enough carbonation. (Tasted at Labyrinth 6/28/21)

Beer 3: Starburst Strawberry/Lemon/Lemongrass Blonde / Golden Ale (5.3% abv) Very herbal. Unexpectedly so. Bitter on finish. Thirst-quenching, with a rosemary afterthought. (Tasted at Labyrinth, 6/28/21.)

Beer 4: Sour Batch 2 (5.8% abv) Watermelon (dominant), Lemon and Blueberry flavors. Brewed with Lactose, but very sour! Quite herbal and savory/salty. Not a Gose, of course, but has some characteristics of one. (Tasted at Labyrinth, 6/28/21.)
