Impression
Charter Oak always has fantastic entertainment, including a guitar player with super-mad skillz my first visit there.
Beers Tasted
Beer 1: Hidden Constitution Witbier (? abv) Tasted at Willimantic BrewCo on 8/2/19, where it was a Guest beer, and "Kill the Keg Special, that day. Lively, with a brown ale quality beneath the Wit. Very impressive.
Beer 2: Fallen Oak Wheat Beer (4.9% abv) Delicious, full American lager, very fresh, with good, piquant carbonation. Tasted at Charter Oak 9/20/19.
Beer 3: Brown Ale w/ Citra (5.5% abv) Cascade, Columbus, and Citra yields a huge, cat's phee hoppiness. Nice, light-to-medium brown color. Delicious freshness and acidity. Tasted at Charter Oak 9/20/19.
Beer 4: Smoke Signal Rauchbier Lager (5.5% abv) Hallertauer Mittelfrüh hops.
Big smoke on attack, followed by mega-citrus.
Wow. Tasted at Charter Oak 9/20/19.
Beer 5: Brown Aged Infused with Hazlenut (6.3% abv) Tastes like a coconut beer, not a hazel one. Not my thing, but creamy and well-made. Tasted at Charter Oak 9/20/19.
Beer 6: Scotch Ale (? abv) Big, full-bodied, sweet-ish but not sugary. Fantastic. (Tasted at the Connecticut Brewfest, Oakdale theater, 10/9/21.)
Beer 7: King Charles Wee Heavy (8.1% abv) Lighter in color than the Scotch Ale, but good flavor. Not as full character as the Scotch Ale. (Tasted at the Connecticut Brewfest, Oakdale theater, 10/9/21.)
Beer 8: Bourbon-Barrel Aged Brown (6.5% abv) Not too sweet; not too much alcohol/bourbon. A nice, heavy beer.
