Impression

NOLO, now Da Legna x Nolo, is very upscale, with a long room featuring a bar with kitchen on the right side as one looks to the back of the restaurant. Two rows of tables lie on the left side, behind a waist-high wall. The back wall has an enormous mural of a locomotive straight out of Illinois Central RR casting. There is a big patio with several long tables that flows diretly onto State Street. Waiters are dressed very SoHo somber-chic.

BEERS TASTED

Beer 1: Moist Greens Rye IPA (7% abv) Very unusual. Superb mix of beer with a touch of sour beer, full flavor, and wheatiness. Big orange aroma. Almost more of a cocktail than a beer. This is beer on another conceptual level and in its execution. I was very taken by it. (Tasted at NOLO (now Da Legna's) New Haven.)
