ROUTE: CT Route 9 North

Founded: 2018

Impression

Very modern, clean & bright taproom, with lots of space., wood panelling, a wood bar, and sturdy wood/steel chairs. The taproom is upstairs from the street, with nice view of New Britain via large windows. Lots of TVs almost makes it a sports bar, but the customer feel is hip & energetic.

BEERS TASTED

Beer 1: Cool Side of the Pilsner (4.2% abv) Nice, but could use more carbonation and a more sustained flavor finish. (Tasted at Five Churches 6/28/21.)

Beer 5: Weerder Blueberry Cherry Lemon Sour (4.0% abv) Gluten free. Notes otherwise unclear. (Tasted at the Third Annual Summer Beerfest at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Waterbury 7/23/21.)

Beer 2: Das Froot Cherry-Plum Berliner Weiße (4.0% abv) Cherry is attenuated; plum dominates. Not a ton of fruit, but a nice thirst-quencher and even quaffer. (Tasted at Five Churches 6/28/21.)

Beer 6: Undivided (6.0% abv) Perfect, balanced American IPA. (Tasted at the Third Annual Summer Beerfest at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Waterbury 7/23/21.)

Beer 3: Das Froot Mango-Passion Fruit Berliner Weiße (4.0% abv) Nicely delineated flavors; can taste both clearly. Tart. (Tasted at Five Churches 6/28/21.)

Beer 7: The Three-year Beer (13.0% abv) Vanilla and Chocolate. Spicy and smokey. Ultimately too strong, though. (Tasted at the Third Annual Summer Beerfest at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Waterbury 7/23/21.)

Beer 4: Neapolitan Complex Vanilla, Strawberry & Chocolate Imperial Stout (13.0% abv) Smells and tastes like spumoni. Strawberry on finish is particularly marked. But the three flavors form a constant merry-go-round one to the other. A fun drink.I don't know whether we can call it a beer, but I enjoyed it! (Tasted at Five Churches 6/28/21.)

Beer 8: Neapolitan Complex (13.0% abv) Vanilla, Chocolate & Strawberry. The three flavors are well delineated and clear as day. An astounding beer. (Tasted at the Third Annual Summer Beerfest at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Waterbury 7/23/21.)
