Impression

Bartender was very enthusiastic. Loved their peppy attitude in general. Very welcoming. They have a beer called "Don't Call Us Cute," but cute aptly describes this place: spic-and-span; gray, white and red tiled walls; wood panelling & floor; nice wooden tables, almost Danish interior architecture. If it's not cute, it's awfully refreshing. Back room is 1/2 story down, and contains the brewery's shiny-clean vats. The room is little, so their name is not a lie, but there were ample tables on a fairly busy day. The crowd tended to be preppy weekend tourists. There is also a nice terrace outside. Extra props for all the Connecticut ingredients Little House uses!

BEERS TASTED

Beer 1: Home Grown: Tahoma (6.4% abv) All-Connecticut Pale Ale. Malt is a bit like birthday cake. Not heavily hopped, but not enough carbonation. OK. (Tasted at Little House 9/12/19.)

Beer 5: Mini Bear Milk & Honey Stout (6% abv) Honey is from Stonewall Apiary in Lisbon, CT. Like Irish Stout, but without as much body. Low carbonation (this is clearly a pattern with Little House's beers, unfortunately). (Tasted at Little House 9/12/19.)

Beer 2: Don't Call Us Cute NEIPA (6.4% abv) Big cat's phee on the nose and palate. OK, not great. Not enough carbonation, either. (Tasted at Little House 9/12/19.)

Beer 6: Cookin' by the Book! Pastry Stout (9.5% abv) Like a coffee, praline, or Irish coffee flavor, but too sweet.
The beer also had an odd, off-putting tartness on the back palate. The choclate malt comes from Rooster Malt of Connecticut. This beer has had a number of iterations since, but the one I drank was the 2019 version. (Tasted at Little House 9/12/19.)

Beer 3: Alternative Fax Old School NEDIPA 98% abv) Malt is from Thrall Family Farm, so also Connecticut ingredients. More bitters and more complexity than a DIPA, but it remains essentially that: a DIPA. (Tasted at Little House 9/12/19.)

Beer 7: Chester Pils (4.9% abv) Good on attack. Little head, and tails off to a watery finish. If that issue can be corrected, this is a really good beer. All-Connecticut: Thrall Family malts, with Smokedown Santiam hops. (Nice.) (Tasted at "VIP Tasting Experience," Smokedown Farm 7/24/21.)

Beer 4: Stereograph All-Connecticut Brown Ale (6.4% abv) Medium-body brown ale with decent coffee flavor, but not much carbonation. Average-good. (Tasted at Little House 9/12/19.)
