Lock City Brewing Co.

MICRO

Founded: 2017

ROUTE: Fairfield I-95

First Visit: 7/26/2019

Impression

Goth / Relaxed-hippy vibe. IPAs are the feature here. Bartendress at the counter was very welcoming and offered super-fast service. Small counter and equipment make the brewery seeem crowded, but place is clear & tasting end of room is really nice, with history of the brewery on the walls. Two excellent musicians playing guitars when I was there. Good assortment of board games. I like their logo of a hop with a lock on it.

Beers Tasted

Beer 1: Gold Ratio Pilsner (? abv) Very clean, refreshing, and fresh. However, water-clear and not enough carbonation or bitter.

Beer 2: Shake Your Booty Lactose IPA (? abv) Big hoppy fruit, later attenuated by lactose.

Beer 5: OJ on Parole IPA (6.2% abv) Disappointing hop level and taste.

Beer 3: Lock City IPA (6.5% abv) Tastes very similar to the Lactose IPA.

Beer 4: Calm Like a Bomb Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk Stout (? abv) Big stout-roast and coffee flavors. Nice enough.
