Reverie Brewing Co.
TAP ROOM
ROUTE: I-84 West
Founded: 2018
Impression
Opened March 5, 2019; I was there on April 5, 2019, for 6 PM happy hour. Huge crowd. Overall, beers were not complex, and flavors not well integrated, but I felt it was a good start for the brewery, and certainly, there were no complaints, judging by the crowd size!
BEERS TASTED
Beer 1: Singles Only Smash American Pale Ale (5.4% abv). FIRST TASTING: Foamy in mouth. Dull gold color. Some haze. Cat's pee on nose. Very average IPA. (Tasted at Reverie 4/5/19.) SECOND TASTING: No notes available. (Tasting at Reverie 79/21.)
Beer 5: Almost Ethyl Raspberry Porter (5.0% abv). Really strong raspberry flavor. Tasty. (Tasted at Reverie 4/5/19.)
Beer 2: Runt Red Ale / Amber (6.5% abv). A bit darker color than the Pale Ale. Muted, uni-dimensional flavor. Aeration gives big malt aroma. (Tasted at Reverie 4/5/19.)
Beer 6: Soak Up the Berries Lemon/Strawberry Blonde Ale (5.2% abv) No notes available. (Tasted at Reverie 79/21.)
Beer 3: Caught in the Dark American Nitro Stout (6.3% abv). Dark brown, almost black. Big coriander & cinnamon, with coffee as sub-note. Flavors are not well integrated, but technically decent, overall. (Tasted at Reverie 4/5/19.)
Beer 7: High Seas Dark Fruit Beer (7.2% abv) No notes available. (Tasted at Reverie 79/21.)
Beer 4: Flexural Strength Peanut Butter Wee Heavy (7.7 abv). Amber to brown color. Some Scotch Ale flavors, especially brown sugar & coffee. Peanut butter is not readily apparent except vaguely on back palate. (Tasted at Reverie 4/5/19.)
Beer 8: Man-Go with Your Bad Self Mango & Lime Kölsch (5.1% abv) Big Rosemary taste. Savory. Delicious. (Tasted at the Third Annual Summer Beerfest at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Waterbury 7/23/21.)
