BEERS TASTED
Beer 1: Cerveza del Valiente American Lager (5.0% abv) Yonkers BrewCo calls this an American Lager, but in the Mexican Style. It felt Mexican-styled: light, with corn adjunct, and conditioned for one month. It was very smooth and refreshing, like a Lawnmower Beer. And despite the lightness, it was far fuller-bodied than, say, a Budweiser. In other words, what an American Lager should taste like. (Tasted at Yonkers BrewCo 6/19/21.)
Beer 5: Guava Cava Guava and Pineapple Sour (6.0% abv) Nice attack and mid-palate, but tapers off on finish. (Tasted at Yonkers BrewCo 6/19/21.)
Beer 2: Yonkers Modern Kicks Witbier (4.8% abv) An interesting combo of brewing methods: this beer maintains the traditional wheat base, whole camomile flowers, and orange peel, but it swaps out Belgian yeast for the house ale yeast. Then, it dry-hops with Centennial and Azaca hops. The beer is nicely made, but it is really an IPA in hiding. No real orange or any ctirus flavor apparent. Some chamomile, but this is really not a witbier. More like IPA-light. (Tasted at Yonkers BrewCo 6/19/21.)
Beer 6: 914 Vienna Lager (5.2% abv) Much fuller than the Mexican/American Lager. Nice nutty taste. (Tasted at Yonkers BrewCo 6/19/21.)
Beer 3: Nitro Chocolate Milk Stout (6.7% abv) Delicious. Great chocolate flavor, but still a beer. No Frankenstein tampering. (Tasted at Yonkers BrewCo 6/19/21.)
Beer 4: Cha Cha Imperial Stout Chai (10% abv) no available notes. (Tasted at Yonkers BrewCo 6/19/21.)
